Establishing a Brand Presence:
Women in Cybersecurity
I was a founding member and the Marketing Chair of the local chapter of Women in Cybersecurity. I volunteered my skills to help set up this new chapter, ensuring its successful launch and growth over the first few initial years, laying the groundwork for continued progress.
Establishing Infrastructure and Operations
I took the lead in establishing and managing the chapter’s marketing operations. This involved setting up hosting and email accounts, Google Workspace, social media platforms and CRM software to facilitate efficient communication and organization within the chapter.
In addition to the technical setup, I was responsible for developing and executing the chapter’s marketing strategy. This included creating a variety of branded marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and graphics, as well as designing and maintaining the chapter’s website. I also produced comprehensive marketing and communications plans aimed at increasing membership and engagement within the cybersecurity community.
Active Participation and Community Engagement
Beyond the administrative and marketing tasks, I actively participated in the chapter’s activities and events, both in-person and online. This involved attending monthly meetings, collaborating with fellow team members to organize events, and engaging with members to foster a sense of community and support. Through my contributions, I played a pivotal role in establishing and growing the WICYS NY Metro Chapter dedicated to empowering women in cybersecurity.
